Trout Fishing Southern Lakes Fishing Safaris provides guided fishing for Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout on the lakes, rivers and streams of the central lower South Island of New Zealand. The area includes the magnificent Southern Lakes region of New Zealand. Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout were introduced in the late 1800s and have thrived in New Zealand's clean, clear waters. The Brown Trout is renowned for providing the ultimate fly fishing experience, and the Rainbow Trout has spectacular fighting ability. Most of the fishing is sight fishing, which is where we try to see the trout in the lake, river or stream, and then cast the fly to it. It is challenging, exciting and rewarding fishing. We actively encourage catch and release. Allow us to put together an itinerary of 2-7 days, that will enable you to experience the full spectrum of magnificent fishing available in our region. |
